Bryshere Gray, is an American actor. He played the role of Hakeem in the Fox drama series Empire. According to reports, he’s been arrested for allegedly assaulting and strangling his wife who passed out in the process.
The incident occurred on Sunday night, July 12. According to police statement on the incident, “a 911 call came through alleging that a female victim had been assaulted at her Goodyear home by her husband, who she identified as Bryshere Gray, an actor on the TV series Empire.”
The statement by the police also indicated that his wife had multiple visible injuries on her body and she confirmed that Gray strangled her at one point, until she passed out.
The injuries however were non-life-threatening but she was taken to the hospital where she was treated and discharged, the police statement said, adding that detectives and a Victim’s Advocate “continued to assist her after her discharge from the hospital.”
When the cops arrived in their home in Goodyear, Arizona, Gray refused coming out of the house and Goodyear SWAT and Crisis Negotiations were called in to assist.
“At 7 a.m. on Monday, Gray approached the front of his residence and surrendered to officers. He was arrested and charged with a felony count of aggravated assault and two misdemeanor counts of domestic violence and disorderly conduct,” USA Today reports.
Gray featured in all episodes of Empire series. His credits also include the indie features Sprinter, Canal Street and Honey: Rise Up and Dance.
