Kosovo has awarded its highest honor “Order of Freedom” to the United States President, Donald J. Trump, on Friday, September 18.

The honor was given to him by Kosovo President, Hashim Thaçi, for his role in a historic peace deal with Serbia earlier this month.

According to Thaçi, the Order of Freedom award is given to people who made significant contributions to defending Kosovo’s freedom.

However, the Presidential Medals of Merit will be given to the National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien and Richard Grenell, who served as intermediaries during the peace talks.

Recall that President Trump had also been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in the peace deal with Serbia and Kosovo.

The award comes after Trump oversaw the signing of the agreement between Serbia and Kosovo earlier this month at the White House.
