At least 8,000 health workers are infected with COVID-19 in Africa — WHO

The World Health Organisation (WHO) African Region, has revealed that over 8,000 health workers have been infected with the Coronavirus disease in Africa.

The health agency made the announcement in a tweet shared on its official Twitter handle.

The tweet read;

More than 8,000 health workers have been infected with #COVID19 in the Region. This is why infection prevention & control #IPC awareness is vital for all. @WHO & partners have trained 50,000+ health workers to protect themselves & patients, & aims to reach over 200,000 in 2020.”
