The World Health Organisation (WHO) African Region, has revealed that over 8,000 health workers have been infected with the Coronavirus disease in Africa.
The health agency made the announcement in a tweet shared on its official Twitter handle.
The tweet read;
“More than 8,000 health workers have been infected with #COVID19 in the Region. This is why infection prevention & control #IPC awareness is vital for all. @WHO & partners have trained 50,000+ health workers to protect themselves & patients, & aims to reach over 200,000 in 2020.”
