Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and wife in isolation after daughter test positive to Covid-19

Delta state Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and his wife, Dame Edith Okowa, have gone into self-isolation after his daughter tested positive to Covid-19.

Dr. Okowa made this known on his Instagram page as well as his verified Twitter Handle today, Friday June 26.

The tweet read; “Earlier today, Edith and I received the news that one of our daughters has tested positive for #COVID19. Hence, in-line with the laid out procedures, we are both going into isolation for the next 14-days. We will continue to keep you all updated.

However, a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, also confirmed that the governor and family have gone into self isolation.

Olisa said; “consequently, the Governor and his family members will immediately commence self-isolation for 14 days”.

Speaking further, he said; “It is again pertinent to stress that COVID-19 is real, and citizens are advised to be disciplined and comply with the protocols of wearing Face Masks and maintaining physical-distancing while in public places as well as basic hygiene of hand-washing with soap in running water and use of alcohol-based sanitizers as NCDC regulation demands.”

As at the time of this report, Delta state currently has 715 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
