Former Governor Ajimobi of Oyo State is Dead

Former governor Ajimobi of Oyo State, is dead. He died at age 70. Ajimobi slipped into coma June 18, due to Coronavirus complications.

The 70-year-old Ajimobi has been on a life support machine since last Friday at First Cardiology Hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos, but finally passed on on Thursday, June 25.

On Monday, SaharaReporters reported that Ajimobi may not make any recovery according to the observations of medical personnel involved in his (Ajimobi) treatment.

According to their report, the former governor Ajimobi had a lung surgery since being rushed to the Lagos hospital but however, made no progress as he also battled with kidney failure.

The medical personnel assigned to Ajimobi’s case last Friday informed his family “that his situation had defied every medical intervention and that only a miracle could bring him back to life.”

The late former Governor will be buried tomorrow, Friday, June 26.

Independent Nigeria reports that the former Governor will be buried in Ibadan at 10:00am tomorrow according to the Islamic rites.

Ajimobi was governor of Oyo State from 2011 to 2019. He was recently named the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) while he was yet on his sick bed.
