JUST IN: Edo Deputy Speaker has been impeached

The Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Yekini Idiaye, has been impeached after he indicated support for the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate Pst Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Yekini Idiaye was impeached during a plenary session Wednesday, August 5. However, Roland Asoro, representing Orhionmwon II Constituency has been elected to replace Idiaye as Deputy Speaker.

Recall that Godwin Obaseki, the incumbent governor of the state, left the APC to the PDP after he was denied the return governorship ticket.

The Edo State gubernatorial election has already witnessed a lot of drama with defections taking place by the day.
