Kamala Harris, Beyonce, others make Forbes’ 100 Most Powerful Women

Forbes has released the world’s 100 most powerful women of 2020 list on Tuesday, December 8, featuring influential leaders from 30 countries in politics, entertainment, business, and more.

The United States Vice President-Elect, Kamala Harris made the list for the first time, claiming the No. 3 spot. According to Forbes, her “rapid ascension in U.S. politics” has “catapulted” her onto the list.

However, the German Chancellor Angela Merkel maintained the No. 1 spot for the tenth year in a row, while the European Central Bank head Christine Lagarde coming in second for the second consecutive year.

Beyonce, Rihanna and Taylor Swift also made it onto Forbes’ list of the 100 most powerful women in the world.

The publication offered their list of influential women who have made a difference in the world, with the singers named among them.

Oprah Winfrey is the highest-ranking entertainment person on the list, claiming the 20th spot.

Rihanna was named as number 69, with Beyonce taking 72nd place and director Ava DuVernay in 79.

Taylor Swift was listed as 82nd, while Reese Witherspoon was narrowly behind, making up the 92nd slot.

The Royal Monarch, UK’s Queen Elizabeth landed in 46th position on the list.
