Nigeria hits 1000 deaths as 252 cases of COVID-19 is reported

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has reported another 252 new Coronavirus cases in the country, with over 1000 deaths on Tuesday, August 25.

The breakdown of the new cases across states is as follows; Plateau — 50, Enugu — 35, Rivers — 27, Lagos — 26, FCT– 18, Kaduna — 18, Ekiti — 10 and Kano — 10.

States with fewer cases include Taraba — 9, Anambra — 8, Edo — 8, Oyo — 8, Delta — 7, Ogun — 6, Abia — 5, Bayelsa — 5, Ebonyi — 1 and Osun — 1.

According to the NCDC report, a total number of 39,964 persons have recovered from the Coronavirus.

However, the total number of confirmed cases is 52,800, while a total of 1,007 persons have lost their life to the pandemic.

GLOBAL REPORT

On a global scale, at least 24,062,636 coronavirus cases have been registered in 215 countries and territories. Of these, at least 16,611,611 are now considered recovered.
