The Lagos State’s Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi had disclosed that Lagos resident can now get themselves tested for Coronavirus for N50,400 in a private laboratory. This is for those who could not get the test in a government owned facilities.
Prof. Abayomi, made this known today June 30, during the launching of the Lagos State Private-Public Consortium on the managemen of Covid-19 to increase the capacity of the state government in the management of the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to his statement, though the tests were being conducted in a government owned laboratories for free, the approved private laboratories will conduct the Coronavirus tests in the state at a cost of not more than N50,400.
According to reports, this development will make residents, particularly those who are suspected to have the symptoms not to get adequate attention from the public hospitals and other government facilities.
Prof. Akin Abayomi, equally said that the inclusion of the private consortium in the testing was part of the moves to expand the state government’s response to the Coronavirus pandemic.
