Some of the protesters who were arrested in Abuja in line with the ongoing #RevolutionNow protest today August 5, have been set free, according to SaharaReporters.
The protesters were reported to have been physically assaulted before they were asked to go after being detained for several hours at the Eagles Square.
Some of the released protesters had claimed that the security operatives stole their mobile phones and wallets containing cash.
According to a lawyer, Tope Akinyode, who confirmed the release of the protesters equally condemned the arrest by the security agents.
According to him, “It is the height of executive rascality. #RevolutionNow protesters were laid on the floor and were beaten, detained and battered. I too even as a lawyer was manhandled and pushed aside. It is pathetic and unfortunate.
